Before withdrawing baht, check three things separately: the ATM operator's fee, your card issuer's charges and the currency-conversion offer. There is no reliable single fee or withdrawal limit to apply to every Thai ATM and foreign card.

A dated bank tariff: Krungsri

The Krungsri electronic banking schedule effective 1 September 2026 (Thai PDF, page 6) lists these fees for withdrawals at Krungsri ATMs using foreign-issued cards:

Foreign-issued cardFee per withdrawal
Visa, UnionPay or JCB250 THB
Mastercard350 THB

Editorial review: 7 October 2026. This is one bank's dated schedule, not a promise for another ATM. Check the bank's current fee notices and the actual charge on screen before confirming. Card-issuer charges and conversion costs are separate.

Why the number of withdrawals matters

For a fixed fee, fewer withdrawals reduce the operator charges. These are arithmetic examples for fees of 250 or 350 THB, not confirmation that your card or machine allows the amounts shown:

Cash withdrawnIf the fee is 250 THBIf the fee is 350 THB
2,000 THB12.50%17.50%
10,000 THB2.50%3.50%
20,000 THB1.25%1.75%

For example, withdrawing 20,000 THB once with a 250 THB charge costs 250 THB in operator fees. Two withdrawals of 10,000 THB at that charge cost 500 THB. Your issuer can add withdrawal or foreign-transaction charges, so compare the full cost and carry only an amount you are comfortable holding.

Limits and conversion: what to check

  1. Ask your card issuer about limits. Check both the per-transaction and daily limits, and whether overseas cash withdrawals are enabled.
  2. Read the ATM's offer. The machine's limit and available cash can differ from your card's limit. Confirm the withdrawal amount and operator fee before proceeding.
  3. Make the conversion choice yourself. Visa explains that dynamic currency conversion must be optional, with the rate and added charges disclosed. Compare the offer with your own card terms; if it is unclear, decline the conversion or pause the transaction.

Getting baht without a foreign card

With OneEx, first agree on the amount to send, final baht payout, timing and method. After payment confirmation, the manager arranges a supported cardless ATM, courier in an available area, or a Thai account transfer. Confirm the exact bank and location before paying. Check any wallet or exchange withdrawal fee separately when sending USDT. Details: USDT to THB.

For a quote, send your amount and location to the OneEx Telegram bot. Do not compare an exchange quote with an ATM fee alone: compare the total money you send and the cash you receive.

Quick takeaways

  • Check the tariff for your exact card and ATM; do not rely on an old universal fee.
  • Check the machine and card limits before planning a large withdrawal.
  • Separate operator, card-issuer and conversion costs.
  • Confirm a cardless payout's full terms separately from foreign-card withdrawal fees.

FAQ

How much do ATMs in Thailand charge foreign cards?

The charge depends on the ATM operator and card network. Check the current tariff and the fee shown for your transaction. The dated Krungsri example below is not a tariff for every Thai bank; your card issuer may charge separately.

What is the maximum ATM withdrawal in Thailand?

Check both the machine limit and your card issuer's transaction and daily limits. Cardless payout arrangements have their own limits. Do not assume that a limit quoted for another bank or card applies to yours.

Should I accept the conversion offered by the ATM?

Read the exchange rate, markup and amount before deciding. Dynamic currency conversion is an optional offer to charge you in your home currency. You can decline it and compare the alternative with your own card terms.

Can I get baht without using a foreign card?

A separately arranged exchange can pay out at a confirmed cardless ATM, by courier or to a Thai account where available. Ask the manager for the final payout and all costs before paying; the foreign-card ATM tariff does not establish the total cost of that exchange.
